Working at sea can be challenging and impacts mental health. We offer free, confidential mental health and well-being services via Togetherall. SHS also offers mental health support to fishers through the Seafit programme.


Joanne Spencer is the Account Manager for SHS at Togetherall and has been with the company since October 2021 having almost 10 years account management experience in the health and wellbeing industry.


Ceri Summers is the founder of Fairwinds Cornwall and is currently leading on a commissioned project delivering a bespoke mental health service for Fishermen and their families utilising an outreach style approach. Fairwinds was initially commissioned by getseafit in 2018 and continues to work in collaboration with Seafarers UK, The Fisherman’s Mission and Seafarers Hospital Society.

Ceri has worked in primary care mental health for 15 years and is a dual trained clinician – experienced in psychodynamic counselling accredited with The National Counselling Society (NCS) and while her counselling approach is largely psychodynamically informed and supervised, if needed and more suitable Ceri will be guided by other counselling principals, including evidenced-based CBT techniques, solution focused techniques, ACT techniques and behavioural activation (which is a NICE recommended intervention for depression).

Ceri is also an IAPT (Improving access to psychological therapies) trained psychological wellbeing practitioner qualified to deliver low intensity interventions for depression and anxiety.

Ceri has a vast experience of supporting individuals in different settings with their mental wellbeing so that they can start to make changes in a  purposeful and meaningful way to them and is currently also working in higher education supporting students.
